山東玉皇化工（集團）有限公司成立于1986年，在國內外擁有5大生產基地，14家子公司，占地7000余畝，員工6000多人，總資產達200億元，2016年中國500強中排名第389位。
2012年，玉皇化工將新能源作為集團轉型升級的重點發展方向，確立“走自主研發和對外合作相結合”的發展思路，籌建電池研發團隊，成立山東玉皇新能源科技有限公司。玉皇新能源注冊資金2.5億元，主要從事動力電芯、動力電池系統和石墨烯的研發生產和銷售。2016年，一期年產5億瓦時動力電池生產線建成投產，二期建設項目已經啟動，占地648畝的新能源百億產業園初具規模。
